Jussi Adler-Olsen is a Danish author best known for his crime fiction, especially the Department Q novels. His books have been widely translated and helped make Nordic noir a favorite with readers around the world.
Before focusing on writing, he worked in fields including publishing and film-related production, experience that shows in the cinematic pace of his stories. His breakthrough came with The Keeper of Lost Causes, which introduced detective Carl Mørck and the cold-case unit Department Q.
His fiction is known for tense plots, dark humor, and damaged but memorable characters. Alongside his international readership, several of his books have also been adapted for film.
