Julia Green is a British author of more than twenty novels and stories for children and young adults. Across her work, she returns to themes that matter deeply to her, including family, friendship, and our connection to the natural world.
Her stories are often described as realistic and contemporary, with a strong interest in love and loss as well as the everyday emotions that shape young lives. Alongside her writing, she has worked in publishing, libraries, and teaching.
Green also founded and led the specialist MA in Writing for Young People at Bath Spa University until 2019, and is listed as Emeritus Professor of Writing for Young People. She lives on the North East coast.
