Born in 1830, Josefina Wettergrund was a Swedish writer and poet who published under the pseudonym Lea. She became especially admired for her humorous, perceptive way of portraying people's weaknesses and oddities, a talent that made her popular with readers in her own time.
Wettergrund also worked as an editor of the family magazine Svalan from 1871 to 1875. Alongside her editorial work, she built a reputation as a much-loved literary voice whose writing combined wit with keen social observation.
She died in Stockholm in 1903. Although not as widely known internationally today, she remains a notable figure in Swedish literature for the charm, humor, and accuracy of her character sketches.
