Born in Söderhamn in 1846, Josef Axel Daniel Linck was a Swedish journalist, editor, and author. He studied at Uppsala University and later built a career in the press, working with several Swedish newspapers and periodicals.

Alongside his journalism, he wrote books on social and economic subjects as well as lively portraits of urban life. His work included studies of labor and society, and he is also remembered for descriptive writing about Stockholm and its people.

Linck earned a doctorate in 1890 and remained active in Swedish public and literary life until his death in Stockholm in 1901. Today he is mainly of interest as a sharp observer of Swedish society during a period of rapid change.
