Born in Söderhamn on March 17, 1846, Josef Axel Daniel Linck was a Swedish journalist, literary historian, and political writer. He studied at Uppsala University, later earned a doctoral degree, and built a career that moved between scholarship, journalism, and public debate.
Linck wrote on a wide range of subjects. His books include studies of Swedish literary figures, writing on King Oscar II, and works on social and economic questions such as women's labor. He is also remembered for vivid books about Stockholm life, which helped capture the character of the city in his time.
