John Milton Hubbard (1833–1923) was a Tennessee teacher, Civil War diarist, and newspaper publisher. In January 1874, he became co-owner and co-editor of the Bolivar Bulletin in Bolivar, Tennessee, joining Moses R. Parrish in running what they described as a respectable local journal devoted to the community.
The partnership lasted a little over a year, but Hubbard later returned to the paper as proprietor in 1883. Through his teaching, diary writing, and journalism, he documented both everyday life and the social changes surrounding the Civil War and Reconstruction eras.
