John Harper

Known for his baseball writing, he has covered the sport in New York for more than twenty years as a sports columnist for the New York Daily News. His work focuses on the drama, history, and personalities of the game, especially in one of baseball’s most intense media markets.

He has also co-written several books, including A Tale of Two Cities, about the Yankees–Red Sox rivalry during the 2004 season. That background gives his writing the feel of someone who has spent years reporting from close range rather than watching from afar.
