About the author

Born in Vagos, Portugal, on July 11, 1872, João José Grave became known as a writer and journalist with an unusually broad output. He published fiction, chronicles, essays, and poetry, and was active in Portuguese journalism, including editorial work for Diário da Tarde and contributions to other newspapers in Portugal and Brazil.
