by J. W. (John Wilmot) Mahood
Born in 1864 and living until 1955, John Wilmot Mahood wrote a number of religious works and was active in Methodist circles. The Library of Congress lists him as the author of Men of Fire (1920), and booksellers and library records connect his name with other devotional and theological titles published over many years.
Mahood was also an educator as well as a writer. Tyndale notes him among its past leaders as Dr. J. Wilmot Mahood, showing his role in Christian academic life in addition to his published work.
His books suggest a practical, pastoral approach, aimed at readers interested in Christian living, ministry, and spiritual growth. Though not widely known today outside specialist and religious collections, his writing belongs to an older tradition of clear, earnest religious instruction.
