Keith Wright is an award-winning crime writer from Nottingham, England, and a former Detective Sergeant in Nottinghamshire CID. On his official site, he says that real-life policing experience helped shape the gritty, realistic style of detective fiction he became known for.
He writes the Inspector Stark series, following Detective Inspector David Stark and his team through serious criminal investigations. His background in CID gives the books an authentic feel, with an emphasis on believable procedure, pressure, and the human cost of crime.
Wright also shares that he grew up on a council estate in Nottingham and was raised by his mother after his father left when he was ten. Alongside his fiction, he has written autobiography as well, bringing the same direct, personal voice to stories from his own life.
