Born in Grahamstown, South Africa, on July 2, 1865, Henry Currie Marillier was a British writer, journalist, critic, and art historian. He was often known as Harry Currie Marillier, and his career moved between literary circles and the world of visual art.

Marillier wrote studies of artists including Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Aubrey Beardsley, and he also published on university life and periodicals. He became especially associated with the study of tapestries and decorative art, earning a reputation as an expert in that field.
