Born in Changshu, Jiangsu, in 1880, Sun Jingxian wrote under several names, including the pen name Guxiang Tenggu. Available reference sources identify him as a novelist and poet of the late Qing and early Republican period, and credit him with works such as Hong Tian Lei, Longyin Cao, and Meibian Yuefu.
He began writing poetry while still very young, and in 1903 published Hong Tian Lei under the name Guxiang Tenggu. Sources also note that in 1909 he traveled to Japan with his teacher Zhang Hong, studied law at Meiji University, and did work connected to the Chinese consulate there.
After returning to China, he served in public office during the early Republican era. He died in 1919. Reliable portrait information was not clearly available from the sources I could confirm, so no profile image is included here.
