Born in Olot in 1878 and later known by the pen name Guerau de Liost, Jaume Bofill i Mates was a Catalan poet, journalist, and politician. He is closely associated with Noucentisme, the early-20th-century cultural movement that valued clarity, order, and classical balance, and he became one of its best-known poetic voices.
