Gord Sellar is a Canadian writer, translator, and educator. On his own bio pages, he notes that he has lived in South Korea for many years, holds an M.A. in English from Concordia University and a B.A. from the University of Saskatchewan, and is also a graduate of the Clarion West Writers Workshop.
His writing has appeared in a range of publications since 2007, and his bio says he has also written screenplays for several award-winning short films. He was a finalist for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 2009, which helped introduce him to many science fiction and fantasy readers.
Sellar has also been closely involved with Korean speculative fiction, both as a researcher and as a translator. In an interview, he described himself as Canadian-born in Malawi, raised in Canada, and living in South Korea while researching the status and development of Korean SF, a combination of experiences that helps explain the international feel of his work.
