About the author

Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on August 12, 1939, Gerald W. Page built a long career in speculative fiction as both an author and an editor. Reliable sources describe him as an American writer of fantasy, science fiction, mystery, and horror, with his first professional story appearing in Analog in 1963.

Page is especially associated with horror and weird fiction. He edited Witchcraft and Sorcery after taking over Coven 13, and later worked on the Arkham House anthology Nameless Places. He also co-edited several DAW volumes of The Year's Best Horror Stories and Heroic Fantasy with Hank Reinhardt.

He was also active in science-fiction fandom from a young age, particularly in the American South, which helped shape his place in the genre community. While a full official author biography is not easy to find online, the available references consistently show a writer whose influence came not only from his own stories, but from the books and magazines he helped bring to readers.
