About the author

Born George Gordon Dewey in Primrose, Nebraska, he is listed by the Internet Speculative Fiction Database as having been born on December 7, 1906, not 1916. He wrote under the name G. Gordon Dewey, and some records also note the shorter form Gordon Dewey.

Dewey was part of the Los Angeles science fiction community and is remembered in fan history as a member of LASFS and one of the "Insurgents" of the 1940s and 1950s. Alongside that fandom presence, he published speculative fiction in magazines including If, Amazing Stories, and The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. His known fiction includes Hoiman and the Solar Circuit, Time and the Woman, The Tooth, and collaborations such as The Collectors and Two-Way Stretch.

Project Gutenberg currently lists Hoiman and the Solar Circuit and Time and the Woman among his available works, which helps keep his fiction accessible to new readers. ISFDB records his death date as October 19, 1975.
