by G. A. (George Alexander) Chadwick
Ordained in the Church of Ireland after studying at Trinity College Dublin, he went on to serve in Belfast and later became Bishop of Derry and Raphoe. Alongside his church work, he built a reputation as a religious writer whose books aimed to be both learned and accessible.
He is especially remembered for expository writing on scripture, including a well-known volume on the Gospel of Mark in The Expositor's Bible series. Library and archive records also show other published work, including sermons, lectures, and sacred poetry.
Although he is often identified by his ecclesiastical titles, his lasting appeal for many readers comes from the direct, readable style of his devotional and biblical writing.
