Born on October 10, 1840, George Alexander Chadwick was an Irish clergyman educated at Trinity College Dublin. He was ordained in 1863 and went on to hold several important posts in the Church of Ireland, including Rector of Armagh, Dean of Armagh, and later Bishop of Derry and Raphoe from 1896 to 1915.
Alongside his church career, he wrote a steady stream of religious works.
