Frederick Leopold Cavally (1877–1962) was an American author whose best-known book is Mother Goose’s Teddy Bears, first published in 1907 by Bobbs-Merrill in Indianapolis. The illustrated collection adapts familiar nursery rhymes around teddy-bear characters and remains his principal surviving work in major digital collections.
Cavally also worked in commercial art and advertising. Records from the 1930s identify him as an art director in Cincinnati, and he contributed an essay on the profession to The Art of Advertising. Later directories list the Frederick L. Cavally Advertising Agency, suggesting a long career combining writing, design, and promotional work.
