author
1839–1908
A 19th-century German adventure writer with a strong feel for storytelling, he also spent much of his life on and around the stage. His books often brought history and faraway settings to young readers in a lively, dramatic way.

by Franz Treller
Born in Kassel on October 15, 1839, Franz Treller was a German actor, director, journalist, and writer. Before focusing on writing, he trained for the theater and worked in several cities, including Oldenburg, Bremen, Königsberg, Riga, and Kassel.
Treller became especially known for adventure fiction and historical tales for younger readers. Some later readers even compared him to Karl May, because his stories combined action, travel, and a strong sense of excitement.
He also worked in journalism in Kassel and remained closely tied to his hometown, where he died on June 28, 1908. Reliable sources confirm his literary work and theater career, but I could not confirm a suitable portrait image from the pages reviewed, so no profile image is included.
