Frank Dilnot was an English author and journalist born in Hampshire in 1875. According to widely cited reference sources, he was educated privately and began newspaper work with Central News in London around 1900 before joining the Daily Mail.
His career moved between reporting, editing, and foreign correspondence. He is noted as having edited the Daily Citizen from 1912 to 1915, and later worked as a correspondent in the United States for the Daily Chronicle.
Dilnot is remembered for combining a reporter’s direct style with popular nonfiction and biographical writing. He died in 1946.
