Frances Roberta Sterrett was an American writer who lived from 1869 to 1947. Surviving reference sources identify her as a novelist, and modern readers are most likely to encounter her through the many titles that remain available in the public domain.
Project Gutenberg lists a substantial number of her books, including Mary Rose of Mifflin, The Amazing Inheritance, and Rebecca's Promise. The opening pages of Rebecca's Promise also show that she had already published other novels by that time, including Jimmie the Sixth and Mary Rose of Mifflin.
Her work reached beyond print as well: Up the Road with Sallie was adapted into a film in 1918. I wasn't able to confirm a reliable portrait image from the pages I checked, so no author photo is included here.
