Born in Arcos de Valdevez on April 1, 1865, Félix Bernardino da Costa Alves Pereira became known as a Portuguese lawyer, archaeologist, and author. He later died in Lisbon on October 26, 1936.
He is especially associated with Sintra, where his historical and archaeological studies helped preserve knowledge of the region’s monuments and older traditions.
