A Dutch teacher and children's writer, she filled her stories with lively family life, schooldays, and the everyday adventures of young readers. Her books were especially active in the early 20th century and helped shape Dutch children's literature.

by Felicie Jehu
Born in Breda on November 28, 1865, Felicie Jehu was a Dutch teacher, children's author, translator, and compiler of story collections. She later died in The Hague on April 14, 1956.
Jehu wrote a large number of children's books, especially between about 1900 and 1935. Her work is often associated with cheerful, bustling households and the world of children at home and at school, which gave her stories an energetic, familiar feel.
Because she also worked in education and translation, her writing sits close to the everyday reading lives of young audiences. She remains remembered as part of the tradition of Dutch children's literature from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
