A Swedish sea captain turned storyteller, he wrote lively tales shaped by life along the coast and in the archipelago. His books blend humor, local color, and firsthand knowledge of fishing and seafaring.

by Erik Sparre
Born on October 14, 1871, in Västra Vingåker parish, Erik Sparre was a Swedish sea captain and author. He also worked as a ship inspector for the Swedish National Board of Trade, bringing practical maritime experience to the world he later described in print.
His writing is closely tied to the sea, the skerries, and outdoor life. Books such as Sommarfiske, Den heliga ormen: sjö- och skärgårdsberättelser, and Erik Sparres bästa show his fondness for fishing, boating, and the characters of Sweden's coastal communities.
Sparre died in Stockholm on February 9, 1950. No clear portrait image of him was available from the sources I found, so the image field is left empty.
