Born in 1819, Emma Anne Georgiana Davenport was a British children's novelist. She is known for writing books for young readers, including Fickle Flora and Her Seaside Friends and Our Birthdays and How to Improve Them.
Her work appeared in the catalogue of Griffith and Farran, a publisher closely associated with books for children. For part of her career, she also wrote educational works under the direction of the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge.
Davenport lived through much of the Victorian era and died in 1910. Her surviving books reflect the period's mix of storytelling, moral instruction, and interest in children's daily lives.
