Born in British Burma and shaped by a famous missionary family, this Baptist minister became a thoughtful religious writer with a strong connection to New York life. He is best remembered for writing a full-length biography of his father, Adoniram Judson, and for helping build the church that came to be known as Judson Memorial.

by Edward Judson
Edward Judson (December 27, 1844 – October 23, 1914) was an American Baptist clergyman and author. He was born in Moulmein, British Burma, the son of missionary Adoniram Judson and Sarah Hall Boardman Judson, and later studied at Brown University.
After a period teaching at what is now Colgate University, he entered the Baptist ministry and spent much of his career in New York City. His church, first called the Berean Church, later became the Memorial Baptist and then Judson Memorial Church, reflecting the family name that remained closely tied to his work.
As a writer, he is especially known for "The Life of Adoniram Judson" (1883), a substantial biography of his father. His career joined pastoral work, education, and religious biography, making him a notable figure in American Baptist history.
