About the author
Born in Seattle, Washington, Douglas Wells grew up in a military family and lived in several places before finishing high school, including Hawaii, North Carolina, Texas, Okinawa, South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. He later earned both his B.A. and M.A. in English from the University of South Florida and went on to teach English and literature at several colleges.
Wells is an award-winning author whose fiction explores the tragic, the comic, and the possibility of redemption in his characters. His first novel, The Secrets of All Secrets, received the Literary Titan Silver Award and was a finalist in the 2017 Independent Author Network Book of the Year Awards.
His later books include The Mourning Islands and How We End Up, continuing a body of work known for mixing strong character drama with mystery, tension, and emotional stakes.
