Born on November 17, 1963, and raised on Boston’s South Shore, Daniel Scott is an American novelist and short story writer. He later made New York City his home, and his fiction became known for its close attention to marginalized characters, personal crises, and the quiet tensions inside everyday life.
His books include Some of Us Have to Get Up in the Morning, No Going Back, Dead Cars, and Pay This Amount. Along the way, he received support and recognition from organizations including the Christopher Isherwood Foundation, the MacDowell Colony, the Millay Colony, and the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation.
