About the author

Dan T. Moore, also known as Dan Tyler Moore Jr., was an American writer whose life stretched far beyond the page. Born in Washington, D.C. in 1908, he served in intelligence during World War II, later worked as a regional commissioner for the SEC, and was also known as a businessman and public speaker.

As an author, he wrote fiction and nonfiction, including the spy novel The Double Spy and The Terrible Game, a 1957 pulp adventure novel that later became the basis for the 1985 film Gymkata. He also wrote books on public lecturing and on spotting financial fraud, which fits with the unusually wide range of his real-life experience.

That mix of public service, travel, and storytelling gives his books an energetic, lived-in feel. He is remembered not just as a novelist, but as someone who turned an eventful career into writing that was direct, curious, and full of momentum.
