Raised by Presbyterian missionary parents in Lebanon, this pastor, teacher, and veteran brought a wide life experience to his writing. His books blend spiritual reflection with warmth, practical wisdom, and a clear affection for people in every season of life.
Born to Presbyterian missionary parents in Lebanon, Donald D. McCall went on to study at Hastings College and at Princeton, Glasgow, Yale, Edinburgh, and Oxford. His background joined faith, scholarship, and public service in a way that shaped both his ministry and his books.
McCall served for 19 years as senior minister of First Presbyterian Church in Rochester, Minnesota, and was also a member of the Mayo Clinic IRB. Beyond parish life, he served on the Nebraska State Board of Parole, taught as an adjunct homiletics professor, and was a retired U.S. Navy commander as well as a Korean War veteran.
His published work includes A Fresh Wind in Your Sails, To Love in Return, Today Belongs to You, and Follow Your Heart. Across those titles, he writes in an encouraging, reflective voice, drawing on decades of ministry and lived experience to speak to readers about faith, aging, love, and hope.
