About the author

Born in New York City on September 27, 1861, Corinne Roosevelt Robinson was the youngest sister of Theodore Roosevelt. She was educated privately and grew up in a family that valued reading, conversation, and public service, influences that shaped her later work as a writer and speaker.

Robinson became known as a poet, author, and lecturer. She married Douglas Robinson, a New York financier and real estate broker, and they had four children. Alongside her literary work, she was also active in public life and Republican politics, speaking widely and remaining a visible figure after her brother's presidency and after his death.

She died in New York City on February 17, 1933. Though she is often introduced through her famous relatives, Corinne Roosevelt Robinson is worth remembering in her own right as a published poet and confident public voice who moved comfortably between literature, society, and politics.
