by Claudi Planas i Font
Born in Barcelona in 1869, Claudi Planas i Font was a Catalan lawyer and writer. Sources describe him as trained in law and active in Catalan cultural circles, with ties to groups such as the Unió Catalanista and the Centre Escolar Catalanista.
He also spent many years in municipal administration and served as secretary of Barcelona City Council through very different political periods. Alongside that public work, he took part in the Jocs Florals of Barcelona, where he was awarded prizes in the 1890s and later served in official roles connected to the event.
As a writer, he contributed poetry and prose to publications including La Renaixença, Catalònia, and Catalunya. He is also known for En Pere i altres contes, a collection that helped preserve his place in modern Catalan literature. He died in 1931.
