Born in Iowa in 1921, Clark R. Mollenhoff became one of the best-known investigative journalists of his generation. He worked for The Des Moines Register and won the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting, earning respect for tough, document-driven reporting on government and politics.

Beyond newspaper work, he also served as a lawyer and as presidential special counsel, giving him firsthand experience inside the world he reported on.
