Born in Utica, New York, on February 1, 1876, she wrote mainly as Grace May North, with Carol Norton used as a pen name on some later editions. She was also a newspaper journalist, and sources note that she worked at the Webster Branch of the New York Public Library in New York City from 1910 to 1915.
Her fiction was aimed at children and teenagers, and she wrote both standalone novels and series books. Her work included the Adele Doring and Virginia Davis books, and she also contributed titles to the X Bar X Boys series, showing an easy range between stories centered on girls and adventures for boys.
She later lived in Nevada and California, and died in San Luis Obispo, California, on July 23, 1960. A clear, reliable portrait image was not available from the sources I could confirm, so no profile image is included here.
