About the author

Born in Santa Fe in 1886, Carlos Alberto Leumann became known in Argentina as a poet, essayist, journalist, and teacher. He wrote on both literary and philosophical subjects, and his work shows a strong interest in science and metaphysics as well as poetry.

Alongside his writing, he had an important place in Argentine literary life through his editorial work at La Nación, where he directed the newspaper's literary supplement. That role helped connect him not only to readers, but also to the wider cultural world of his time.

Leumann died in Buenos Aires in 1952. Some library records list his birth year as 1887, but the biographical sources located here most consistently give August 17, 1886.
