by B. E. van (Bertha Elisabeth) Osselen-van Delden
Bertha Elisabeth van Osselen-van Delden (1847–1936) was a Dutch children's author, born in Diepenheim and later dying in Heerde. She wrote under the name B. E. van Osselen-van Delden and is remembered as a prolific writer for young readers.
Her books appeared from the 1890s onward, and a number of them are preserved in the Digital Library for Dutch Literature. Titles connected with her there include 't Jodinnetje van Elspeet, Corrie en de kaboutertjes, Twee vrinden, Arthur's viool, and Grootmoeder en kleinzoon.
The surviving record in standard reference sources is fairly concise, but it clearly shows a long literary career devoted to children's fiction. Her name also remained visible through her family: her daughter Hedwig Cecile Albertine van Osselen became an artist, and reference pages about the family still identify Bertha Elisabeth van Osselen-van Delden as a children's writer.
