author
1848–1874
A short-lived Finnish writer and stage pioneer, he is remembered for a lively comic play that still circulates in digital libraries. His career was brief, but it belonged to the early years of Finnish-language theatre.

by Aukusti Edvard Korhonen, Sakari Ruotsalo
Aukusti Edvard Korhonen is listed in library records as the author of the Finnish play Kuka nyt vävyksi? and lived from 1848 to 1874. The play is also associated with Sakari Ruotsalo, and modern catalogues show Korhonen with that single known title.
Reliable biographical information about him is scarce. A closely related source on Finnish Wikipedia identifies Aukusti Korhonen as a Finnish actor and writer connected with the early Suomalainen Teatteri, the forerunner of the Finnish National Theatre, and notes that he died in 1874. Because the available records use slightly different name forms and birth years, it is safest to say that Korhonen belongs to the formative generation of Finnish-language theatre and comedy writing.
That uncertainty is also part of his story: he survives today mostly through one humorous stage work and a handful of catalogue entries, which gives him the air of a nearly lost literary figure from 19th-century Finland.
