Born in Meudon on July 7, 1873, Antoine Redier was a French writer, essayist, novelist, journalist, and editor. Sources consistently describe him as the author of many books, including Méditations dans la tranchée and La Guerre des femmes, both noted as prizewinning works of the Académie française.
Redier also served as a lieutenant of infantry during the First World War and later directed La Revue française. That mix of military experience, journalism, and literary work helps explain the serious, public-minded tone often associated with his career.
