An architectural historian and author based in New York City, she studied at Middlebury College and later earned a master’s degree in historic preservation from Columbia University. Her background in preservation and design history shapes the way she writes about buildings, interiors, and the people who created them.

She joined Peter Pennoyer Architects in 2000 and has worked with Peter Pennoyer on a number of books about early twentieth-century American architects. She has also written and contributed to books on architecture, interior design, and decoration for publishers including W. W. Norton, The Monacelli Press, and Vendome Press.
