Born in Munich on April 12, 1852, Agnes Sapper was a German author of children's literature. She was born Agnes Brater and later became known for stories and novels that spoke to young readers with humor, everyday detail, and a strong feeling for family life.

Her most famous work is Die Familie Pfäffling, published in 1907, followed by the sequel Werden und Wachsen in 1910. Reference works describe her as one of the most successful and widely read German-language children's authors of her era, often mentioned alongside writers such as Johanna Spyri and Ottilie Wildermuth.
