A seasoned Earth trader named Boyd Larkin has taken the risky job of peddling supplies in Sudal, the holy city of Mars. The red‑dusted streets are lined with relics of a forgotten golden age, and the city is ruled by the iron‑fisted despot Malovar, whose reputation alone keeps most outsiders away. When a nervous Martian named Seekin steps into Larkin’s shop, he offers a priceless opal and a desperate request for rare minerals needed to revive dwindling crops.
