Vengeance on Mars!
In the amber glow of a Martian night, veteran colonist Hale drives his battered one‑man beetle toward a forgotten water temple, where an old friend‑turned‑outlaw, Randy, has taken refuge. A ragged band of local enforcers and a shadowy network of “redboys” press Hale to negotiate, promising a brutal massacre if he fails. As ancient stone walls close in, the thin line between loyalty and survival blurs, and the memory of the horrific “Green Spot” massacre looms, reminding everyone how quickly order can collapse on the red frontier.
The story pits Hale’s hardened sense of duty against the corrupt machinations of the Colonial Authority and the secretive Lhrai priests who threaten further bloodshed. With a gun on his belt, a match lighting his resolve, and a desert full of unseen dangers, the opening sets a tense, gritty stage for a showdown that will test friendships, honor, and the fragile peace of a colonized world.
