Ray Rollins is a seasoned defender of humanity’s last outpost, a sprawling space station that circles a silent moon. While the bulk of the crew believes the threat comes from rival nations, Ray senses something older, an enemy that vanished long before Earth's wars began. His uneasy vigilance is amplified by strange, barely audible noises that seem to stalk the station’s corridors, hinting that a forgotten menace is closing in.
Back on Earth, a storm‑lashed night turns the ordinary into nightmare when a colossal, mask‑like figure presses its glowering, crimson eyes against his window. The apparition is accompanied by a hulking, scarred man who knows Ray by a name he’d rather forget—Bill Cuff, a legendary outlaw whose murderous past is whispered in police files. Their uneasy meeting suggests that the shadowy foe Ray worries about may already be in his own home, and the line between memory and menace is about to blur.
