Description

In a cloister that stretches beneath the stone walls of Worcester, a silent procession of white‑clad sisters moves along a hidden underground passage that links their monastery to the great cathedral above. Every evening they descend through the dim vaults, counting the mysterious five‑and‑a‑half‑fold spirits that appear and vanish, then rise again to resume their prayers in the candle‑lit chambers. The ritual, rooted in a tradition half a century old, gives the convent an air of solemn mystery that permeates its stone corridors.

Into this rhythm steps Mary Antonyn, a pragmatic nun tasked with overseeing the daily count and the upkeep of the secret way. When the youngest sister, Agatha, collapses during a long fast and seemingly disappears into the darkness, the community is left with an unsettling silence and a whispered belief that she has been taken away like the biblical Enok. As the sisters grapple with the inexplicable loss, their devotion is tested, and the hidden tunnel begins to reveal hints of a deeper, unseen world that has lingered beneath their feet for generations.
