Isobar Jones, nicknamed “Isobar” by his lab mates, spends his days charting weather for Earth from a cramped dome on Luna’s far side. The job is a mix of tedious data entry, cheeky banter with the Dome Commander’s niece, and the occasional defense of his beloved bagpipes against a tone‑deaf superior. Amid filtered sunlight and recycled air, his routine feels more like a goldfish in a glass bowl than the adventure he signed up for.
When the dome’s transmission officer, Sparks, demands the latest forecast and warns Isobar to keep his bagpipes quiet, a minor dispute quickly escalates. Two technicians step outside for routine repairs, and the thin lunar crust hints at hidden dangers that could jeopardize the outpost’s delicate balance. As Isobar wrestles with his report and the growing tension, listeners are drawn into a slice of hard‑boiled space life where humor, camaraderie, and a dash of mystery collide.
