Description

A bleak November day in 1882 finds a young painter, Elias Bacharach, trapped in a storm of doubt. The relentless wind and leaden clouds press down on his studio, turning his brushes dull and his colors lifeless. Despite his health, wealth and youthful promise, the world outside feels out of tune, leaving him restless and unable to capture the vision he craves.

Seeking a spark, Elias wanders through the city and ends up at the cluttered shop of Matthew Redwood, a seasoned costumer. The dim, faded frescoes and a tarnished pier‑glass hint at stories long forgotten, while a sudden flash of light—an enigmatic young girl—draws his gaze and awakens a flicker of inspiration. As he prepares to ask Redwood about Provençal attire for his next canvas, the promise of a new masterpiece begins to emerge from the gloom.
