Narli Gzann, a solitary Saturnian scholar, has been tapped as the first exchange professor to teach on Earth. Though his reputation is stellar, his temperament is anything but sociable, and the prospect of a farewell “vilbar” party throws him into an uncomfortable spotlight. His colleague, Professor Karn Slood, pleads with him to attend, hoping the celebration will ease the bittersweet transition and win over human curiosity.
The story follows Narli’s uneasy navigation of cultural differences, from unusual snacks called frismil nuts to the very idea of mingling with students who view him as a curiosity. As he prepares to leave Saturn’s quiet orbit for Earth’s bustling campuses, he wrestles with the lure of a generous salary, a grand research project, and the simple desire to stay unnoticed. Listeners will be drawn into the witty, slightly alien perspective on academia, hospitality, and the awkward dance of first‑contact etiquette.
