In a frozen, wind‑blasted sea the young minstrel Cappen Varra clings to a creaking vessel, his harp packed in a leather case as the storm threatens to swallow the ship whole. He has journeyed from the warm courts of the south to the stark, myth‑rich north, hoping his songs might win favor and fortune among the fierce Norren warriors. Yet the gale strips away his fine clothes, leaving him drenched, shivering, and far from the applause he imagined.
The crew battles the relentless waves of the Wolf’s Throat while a grim winter feast looms on the horizon, ordered by the stern chieftain Svearek, whose mood has soured since a troll claimed his daughter. Cappen watches the hulking giants and the icy rigging with a mixture of awe and dread, aware that his delicate art may not be enough to secure his place. As the ship teeters on the brink, the bard must decide whether to rely on his music, his wits, or something far more daring to survive the night.
