Description

Frank Cowperwood steps out of a Philadelphia penitentiary a richer, scarred man, determined to leave the cut‑throat world of the stock exchange behind. With a fortune salvaged from a recent panic, he sees the bustling West as a blank canvas for his next venture—street‑railways, land deals, and the untamed promise of a growing metropolis. Yet the shadows of his past linger, and the elite of his former city watch his every move from a distance.

Boarding a train toward Chicago, Frank bids farewell to his young, devoted mistress, promising a future together once his new empire is secure. The prairie stretches flat and endless, the rail lines multiplying like veins leading to opportunity, while the distant skyline glitters like a promise of rebirth. As the train whistles forward, his mind races with the challenge of reshaping a city and proving that wealth, ambition, and love can survive the harsh judgment of both old and new worlds.
