Description

Born on a Virginia plantation, the future leader spent his boyhood learning the rhythms of the land and the responsibilities of a gentleman farmer. As a teenager he joined a surveying expedition, mastering the rough terrain of the western frontier and gaining a reputation for honesty and perseverance. Those early adventures thrust him into the French and Indian War, where he served under seasoned commanders, witnessing both the triumphs and the harsh setbacks that would shape his character.

When colonial unrest began to stir, Washington found himself at the center of a burgeoning conflict, tasked with mediating between rival powers and defending the frontier settlements. His calm resolve and strategic insight earned him the confidence of his peers, leading to his selection as commander of the Continental forces. The early months of the war reveal a leader testing his limits, learning to balance caution with boldness as he prepares the fledgling army for the challenges ahead.
