Description

Caught in the bleak wilds of western Russia, a lone Scottish officer finds himself stranded on the banks of the icy Louga. Dressed in a striking green uniform with scarlet accents, he battles freezing winds, tangled gorse and a tumultuous river that threatens to swallow his horse. The scene is set in the aftermath of the Crimean War, when foreign mercenaries like him were woven into the fabric of Russian military life, and his thoughts turn to the dangerous mission that brought him here—a secret dispatch that could alter the balance of power.

As night falls and snow begins to drift, he must decide whether to brave the frigid waters or wait for a miracle, all while shadows of political intrigue loom in the pine‑filled gorge. Whispers of a prophetic Muscovite predicting the fall of the Ottoman Crescent add a layer of urgency to his already precarious situation. Listeners will be drawn into his gritty humor, fierce determination, and the looming mystery of what the dispatch truly contains, setting the stage for a peril‑filled journey through war‑torn lands.
